"It all started when I was invited to a "huipil" themed exhibit. So, I started researching and talked to a friend who showed me her collection and told me about the stories [imprinted in the huipiles]. That's when I saw the Nebaj huipil, which is a love tale. Because they all tell a story, I've become fascinated by them."

Huipiles and other "indumentaria" (clothing) from Maya Guatemala have served as sources of inspiration to Pili Garin.
