Guatemalan fiber artist Mirella Beverini 's statement" "Through complex geometric patterns and values vivid color combinations the women who design and weave a huipil express their social and aesthetic values and embody their roles in society. (...) In my series “Threaded Mosaic” the overall design of my pieces is the result of various, unique tiles. Each tile is treated as an individual loom, each one having its own geometric pattern but when put together they create something more than the sum of the parts. I call it the mosaic of life, where each event [title] complements the other perfectly, representing the journey of life from beginning to end. Each moment adds beauty, meaning, and richness to my life.”
