Description
“Espiral Textile” became a collaborative project during an extracurricular course with design students from the University Francisco Marroquin alongside textile artist Angelica Serech and visual artist Daniela Pinto. Together, they crafted two textile pieces at Angelica’s home in San Juan Comalapa. Daniela’s video mapping projections on the piece captured the essence of life within it.
Following this, Beba Urruela transformed it into a sound piece, showcasing its transformative power within the room. Throughout the process, they shared meals and conversations with Angelica and her family, becoming part of their lives.
Their journey involved understanding Angelica’s artistic practice on a deeper level, one enriched with ancestral knowledge, worldview, and courage. They aimed to bridge different cultural and social backgrounds to connect diverse realities.
