Description
French artist Marie-Noëlle Fontan learned to weave with the guidance of her mother. "I discovered the textiles of Guatemala in 1974 and was able to learn weaving with the technique used in Comalapa. I have always loved weaving and plants, and I was fortunate enough to combine these two passions into one: plant textiles. With the plants I collected while in Antigua, I created a huipil, a very characteristic garment of Guatemala. I tried to capture the colors of Guatemala by weaving the flowers I found in this country."
